The commercial challenge

Customers want to find suitable products and know what to expect. Behind that simple expectation sit product data, suppliers, payment flows and delivery. The commercial question is how these parts can work together without creating extra work for the customer.

The approach

Originem developed a modular commerce environment, connecting product data and distribution processes with ordering. Public articles from 2025 describe direct supply from distribution and automated data exchange. The customer journey is treated as one process, from selection through delivery.

Technology and processes

The public Originem showcase lists Sylius, Akeneo Enterprise, Interlayer.cloud, FactFinder/Loop54 and Mollie. These support commerce, product information, integration, search and payments respectively. The Twinkle article on DirectShipping describes the ALSO collaboration and is labelled as branded content.

Konrad’s contribution

Konrad represented Originem in explaining the commercial vision and distribution model. His contribution is described in strategy, proposition and advisory terms; platform development and integrations belong to the teams involved.

The lesson for other organisations

Taking work off the customer starts behind the scenes. Designing product information, order handling and distribution together creates the opportunity for a simpler customer process.
